There will be no new softball field in front of the Hildreth Elementary School.

Vermont State Police are asking for the public’s help in the investigation into the suspicious death of Mary Anderson, the 23-year-old Harvard woman whose body was found in her pickup truck in Brattleboro, Vermont, early Tuesday morning.

Two weeks ago a parent of two young softball players filed a Title IX discrimination complaint with the Harvard Public Schools’ district compliance coordinator. 

Just after the town clock struck 10 last Saturday morning, three Harvard police cruisers with sirens blaring led the Fourth of July parade down Ayer Road from Town Hall. 

Funds have been committed to secure the purchase of an agricultural preservation restriction (APR) for 70 of 75 acres; ensuring Prospect Hill Community Orchard is protected in perpetuity as agricultural land.

With a count of “3-2-1” followed by a blast from race director Mike Thornton’s bullhorn, 176 runners sprinted past the Bromfield School on the first leg of this year’s 5-mile Great Harvard 4th of July Road Race.

Harvard is expected to receive $346,411, distributed over the course of 17 years, to address the opioid crisis.
