At 1:42 a.m. firefighters were called to a two-car collision on Interstate 495 southbound. Engine 2 provided scene safety and cleanup; everyone involved in the crash refused ambulance transport.
Thursday, Sept. 2
At 4:50 p.m. Harvard firefighters covered the Stow fire station while Stow provided mutual aid at a fire in Hudson.
Sunday, Sept. 5
At 10:57 a.m. a 911 caller reported a kayaker downriver from the Oxbow National Wildlife Refuge had fallen into the water; he was clinging to the side of another kayak and appeared to be having trouble breathing. The Fire Department sent its boat and dive team, rescued the kayaker, and brought him back to the Oxbow parking area on Still River Depot Road. From there an ambulance took him to the hospital.
