In the past week, police made nine motor vehicle stops, resulting in six verbal warnings, one written warning, and two civil citations, which carry a fine. They also made three well-being checks, dealt with two disabled motor vehicles, and responded to one false alarm.
The Ambulance Service responded to 14 calls and transported eight patients to the hospital, four with Advanced Life Support services on board. One person needed a lift assist. Ambulance crews were called to six motor vehicle collisions.
Tuesday, June 13
At 9:05 a.m. a parent spoke with the traffic officer at the elementary school about a packet the parent had found in the driveway at home; suspecting the packet might contain drugs, the parent turned it over to the officer, and the police disposed of it.
Wednesday, June 14
At 7:02 a.m. a blown transformer on Bolton Road caused a power outage; National Grid was notified. At 11:21 p.m. a Bowers Brook apartment resident called police about loud music from a car parked at the Dunkin’ Donuts. An officer spoke with the occupant of the car, who turned out to be living in the vehicle. The officer advised the person of some resources for finding a residence, and the clinician who works with the police will follow up.
Thursday, June 15
At 1:26 a.m. a 911 caller reported a crash on Interstate 495 southbound; state police had jurisdiction. At 8:15 a.m. a 911 caller told police there was a newborn fawn, seemingly alone and possibly injured, near the intersection of Partridge Hill Road and Deerfoot Trail. An officer checked with a resident who is experienced with animals and then took the fawn into the nearby woods, hoping the mother was nearby. Neighbors were inclined to keep an eye on the fawn, but police asked them to stay away so the doe would be more likely to return. At 1:37 p.m. a 911 caller reported a crash on Mass. Ave., but the matter was referred to Boxborough police, as it was in their jurisdiction. At 3:31 p.m. there was another crash, this one involving a car and two motorcycles, on Route 2 westbound. State police had jurisdiction. At 5:50 p.m. a car crashed and rolled over on Interstate 495 southbound; again, state police were called to the scene.
Friday, June 16
At 12:47 p.m. a car driver who had been involved in a road-rage incident on Route 2 came to the police station; the other party—a motorcyclist—soon arrived as well. An officer heard each of their complaints but referred them to the state police barracks in Fitchburg, making sure they left at separate times. At 3:59 p.m. a caller reported a black Cadillac being driven erratically on Still River Road; police units were advised, but the car had left the area. At 4:29 p.m. a walker turned in a cellphone found on Ann Lees Road; it is still at the station. At 11:21 p.m. someone called about a branch in the roadway on Prospect Hill Road, and an officer removed it.
Saturday, June 17
At 12:39 p.m. police received a 911 call about a crash on Interstate 495 northbound, but state police were in charge.

Monday, June 20
At 7:33 a.m. police received a 911 call about a motorcycle crash on Littleton Road; the rider’s ankle was injured, and she was taken by ambulance to a hospital. At 1:47 p.m. a caller told police a horse was loose on Ayer Road, but police did not locate it. At 2:52 p.m. several people called 911 to report a rollover crash on Interstate 495 northbound. At 4:24 p.m. a caller reported a large branch down on Littleton County Road near Cleaves Hill Road; police alerted the DPW, which sent a worker with a chainsaw. At 4:29 p.m. someone called to say a tractor-trailer was speeding on Oak Hill Road, headed toward the town center; police were unable to locate the truck.
