Smoke from distant wildfires reaches Harvard

On the afternoon of Monday, July 26, Harvard Fire Department Chief Rick Sicard notified residents that smoke in the area is a “direct result of wildfires throughout the U.S. and Canada.” Sicard said the smoky conditions would likely continue through Tuesday, July 27. He asked residents not to call 911 if they see or smell smoke in the air, but if they see fire or would like the fire department to check on a situation, they should call 911.
