Rollstone Bank & Trust donates $8,800 to local food pantries

Press release submitted by Rollstone Bank & Trust

Each December, Rollstone Bank & Trust provides its customers an opportunity to make a charitable donation in exchange for calendars and gift envelopes. This year, the Bank also matched all of the customers’ donations, thereby doubling the amount of aid. Local food pantries were the chosen charity, with five area organizations sharing in the proceeds.

Rollstone Bank & Trust wanted to supply aid to the areas where its customers live, so the selected programs were Ginny’s Helping Hand of Leominster; Christ Church in Fitchburg; Loaves and Fishes, serving the Harvard area; Townsend Ecumenical Society in Townsend; and the Worcester County Food Bank.

“We are very grateful to Rollstone Bank & Trust and their customers for donating to us a portion of the proceeds from the bank’s annual holiday calendar program”, said Sally Hodgerney, Worcester County Food Bank’s Development and Communications Coordinator. “Their generosity helps us, through our network of Partner Agency food pantries and community meal sites, to distribute donated food to tens of thousands of our neighbors in Worcester, and throughout the county.”

“Our calendar donation program is part of our commitment to serve each community in which we do business. RBT is strongly invested in the region, and we are happy we can help those in need,” said Martin F. Connors, President and CEO of Rollstone Bank & Trust. “We are grateful for the support shown by our customers and staff for this annual program.”

Since 1846, Rollstone Bank & Trust has been serving the people, businesses and organizations of Central Massachusetts and continually earns 5-star rating for safety and soundness. It has 8 offices, located throughout Fitchburg and Leominster, as well as Harvard, Townsend, and Worcester. RBT can be found on the web at RollstoneBank.com.
