Rollstone Bank & Trust donated $10,000 to the American Red Cross of Massachusetts to provide support to its Home Fire Campaign to battle the disastrous effects of home fires.
The American Red Cross Home Fire Campaign helps save lives by installing free smoke alarms in homes that don't have them, and by educating people about home fire safety.
For ten years, the Red Cross has made over 1 million households safer by installing more than 2.5 million smoke alarms and helped families make more than 937,000 home fire escape plans.
“This donation will help families right in our region,” said Martin F. Connors Jr., President & Chief Executive Officer of Rollstone Bank & Trust. “We are grateful for the Red Cross and proud to help them continue their important efforts in our community.”
Every eight minutes, the Red Cross responds to a disaster, and most of them are home fires. Home fires are more common than most of us imagine, and these disasters are both dangerous and costly. When disasters strike, the Red Cross provides emergency lodging, by securing hotel rooms, financial assistance for immediate essentials such as food, clothing and prescription medicines, and long-term support when navigating insurance paperwork, replacing lost possessions and more.
