Fire and Light presents the work of internationally renowned artist, Otto Piene (b. Germany, 1928-2014), focusing on artworks created since the mid-1980s when he moved to Groton, MA.

84th Regional Exhibition of Art & Craft
One of the oldest juried exhibitions in New England. This annual summer tradition at the Fitchburg Art Museum strives to discover, encourage, and celebrate the artists and crafters of
our region.

Call and Response: A Matter of Perspective
The seventh annual collaboration between the Fitchburg Art Museum and ArtsWorcester that
features works from FAM’s collection and by ArtsWorcester members in one collaborative
exhibition.

Dr. Jean Borgatti, Curator, will give a brief overview of art from the Pacific Islands, and then
we’ll tour the exhibition where she will explain the significance of masks, personal adornment,

Museum admission.

Help fly one of Otto Piene’s inflatable sculptures, or swing by to observe and draw. Drawing
supplies and tables will be available for children (and adults) to draw the floating sculptures.

FAM Summer Party
Celebrate the opening of three new exhibitions, including the 84th Regional Exhibition of Art
and Craft! The event is FREE to the public. Guests are welcome to enjoy light refreshments and
a cash bar.
The Fitchburg Art Museum serves the cities of Fitchburg and Leominster and the surrounding communities in North Central Massachusetts and Southern New Hampshire. FAM was founded in 1925, and its five-building complex, with over 20,000 square feet of exhibition space, features exhibitions from its art historical collections as well as special exhibitions focused on New England contemporary art.
