Lisa Fiorentino named chief executive officer of Indian Hill Music

Press release submitted by Indian Hill Music

The Board of Directors of Indian Hill Music has promoted Lisa Fiorentino to Chief Executive Officer of the Littleton-based, regional non-profit music center. The promotion reflects the critical role she has been playing in the organization’s strategic planning and preparations for its long-term future, and was confirmed at a January 16th board meeting.

Susan Randazzo, a founder who has served as Indian Hill Music’s Executive Director since 2001, will transition to a role focusing on long-term institutional advancement as Indian Hill Music prepares for its landmark new education and performance facility – the Music Center at Indian Hill – being built in Groton, Mass.

“I am incredibly excited and honored to lead Indian Hill Music at this pivotal time,” said Fiorentino, who served most recently as Indian Hill Music’s Chief Operating Officer and has been with the non-profit for 10 years. “We have an extraordinary opportunity to create one of the most ambitious cultural projects in New England, a world-class music center for teaching, performance, and community partnership. Our organization provides exceptional and vibrant music experiences that educate, energize, and enrich our community. I look forward to working with Indian Hill’s outstanding team of staff, faculty, musicians, and board members to deepen our impact in the region.”

Fiorentino began her tenure with Indian Hill Music as Director of Finance and was promoted to Chief Operating Officer in 2014. She has been a key player in planning and strategy for Indian Hill. Prior to joining the organization, she was the Vice President of Finance and Administration and Chief Accounting Officer of NetScout Systems in Westford, where she helped manage that organization through a significant growth phase. Fiorentino received an MBA from Bentley University and a BS from Merrimack College, and is a long-time resident of Groton.

“Lisa is an excellent choice to lead Indian Hill Music into the future. Her promotion is part of a transition plan that we have been executing over the past several years. Lisa has been driving our strategic direction as we prepare for our organization’s new home and I am confident in her ability to continue to move us forward,” said Randazzo. “I am also looking forward to concentrating my efforts on development and artistic advising, two areas that I am most passionate about and that are critical to Indian Hill Music’s growth path. I am so happy to be taking on this new role. It is the right time for our organization and for me personally.”

Randazzo has served in every role in the organization she helped to found in 1985: faculty and orchestra member, administrator in a variety of positions, and student parent. Under her leadership, Indian Hill Music completed strategic plans in 2007 and 2013, adopting a clear mission “to share the transformative power of music, through teaching and performing, and giving music generously when there is need.”

An accomplished cellist, Randazzo served on the faculty of Indian Hill Music School for 13 years and continues to play in the professional Orchestra of Indian Hill. A student at New England Conservatory and graduate of Boston University, she was a Tanglewood Music Center Fellow and is a former member of Symphony New Hampshire, Pro Arte Chamber Orchestra of Boston and the Portland (ME) Symphony Orchestra.

“Indian Hill Music is fortunate that we’ve had such strong leadership from Susan Randazzo for so long and that Lisa Fiorentino will follow her in the role of CEO. Susan has overseen Indian Hill’s tremendous growth and helped to navigate the design of the new Music Center that will help to transform the entire region. We’re looking forward to continuing to work with her on institutional advancement,” said Peter Ashton, Chair of Indian Hill Music’s Board of Directors. “Lisa’s strong leadership and management experience, combined with her deep understanding of Indian Hill gained over the last decade, make her the ideal choice for the CEO role.”

Indian Hill Music is creating a world-class education and performance center on a stunning 110 acre landscape in Groton. Construction will be ongoing for several years in order to achieve superb acoustics in the performance halls and teaching studios. Anticipated to open in 2022, the Music Center at Indian Hill will include a 1,000 seat concert hall, a 300 seat recital hall, rehearsal and teaching spaces, state of the art acoustics, dynamic architecture, and lawn seating for summer concerts. The Music Center will be a regional gathering place for music education and performance of all genres for Central Massachusetts and well beyond.
