The 2021 League of Women Voters Harvard Civics Cup was a tight race, with the top teams locked within a few points of one another from start to finish. As a result the League organizers took extra time to validate the scores and announced the winners on Sunday, March 14.
In first place was Team Robert, made up of eighth-graders Ewan Ward, Isaac Xu, and Brady Martel, who maintained a narrow lead round after round. Their names will be engraved on the plaque on the Civics Cup trophy. They will also be awarded gift cards to the Harvard General Store, the West Side Creamery, and Silver Unicorn Bookstore.
Coming in a close second were the Civic Gods—seniors Freddie Curtis, Ben Brown, and Matthew Atwell. They will also receive gift cards to the General, the Creamery, and the Silver Unicorn.
Taking third place was a team of senior siblings, the Twinners, with Taylor Caroom, Brooke Caroom, Arianna Thornton, and Nick Thornton. The Twinners will receive gift cards to the General.
In all, 13 teams made up of 45 students competed.
