The Bromfield girls lacrosse team beat the third-seeded Littleton Tigers, 11-8, Wednesday afternoon at Fitchburg State University’s Elliot Field, sending the team to the Central/West Division 2 Finals where it will face its perennial nemesis, the Groton-Dunstable Crusaders.

The team’s high scorer in today’s semifinal match was junior Courtney Route with four goals, followed closely by eighth grader Izzy Planchet with three, ninth grader Ainsley Jones with two, and Kaeli Armstrong and Chandler Farley with one apiece. Goalie Emily Podgorni had nine saves.
The two teams traded goals during the first half, but the Trojans gradually pulled ahead as the minutes ticked by and was leading 11-7 with less than five minutes remaining in the game. Littleton scored its final goal during the final 10 seconds of the game on a pass from junior Kerri Bolivar to sophomore Loren Faber who fired a shot up the middle past Podgorni.
With their victory today, the girls move on to the Central/West Division 2 Finals where they will play the top-seeded Groton-Dunstable Crusaders (14-4) on Saturday, June 10, at a time and place yet to be announced.
