Following their 10-8 win over Grafton on Saturday, the Bromfield girls' lacrosse team is headed to the Division 2 state semifinals tomorrow, Tuesday, June 10, at Foley Stadium in Worcester, where they will play Wayland, the Eastern District 2 championship team.
Going into the playoffs, Wayland was the number three seed in its district with a 13-4-1 record. In the district final on June 6, Wayland beat number one seed Medfield 16-5.
It's been a year of firsts for the Trojans: the first time a Bromfield lacrosse team has reached the district finals and the first time one has reached the state semi-finals. It's also coach David Planchet's first year with the team.
Tomorrow's game starts at 5:30 p.m. The winner will play either Newburyport or Norwell for the Division 2 title this coming Saturday, June 14, at Boston University.
