Third-graders at the Hildreth Elementary school recently particpated in a special bookmaking integrated art and literacy project in conjunction with For Art’s Sake. In a series of practical workshops students saw different types of books, bookmakers, and book sellers. They also had an opportunity to discover the history of printmaking. Children dissected a book as well as created their own book from scratch. The children’s books will be lent to the Harvard Public Library and put on display.
