An auction of Shaker furniture and collectibles was held Oct. 3 at Fruitlands Museum. A crowd of more than 150 people kept the bidding on more than 300 items going for several hours. Willis Henry Auctions of Marshfield managed the event.

Auctioneer Willis Henry (far left) looks on as two of his helpers hoist a Shaker table onto a viewing podium. After several minutes of bidding, a bidder bought the the table­—one of only two its size to be held in private collections—for $100,000.
