Marcia Wilson’s “Eyes on Owls” program is part of a second-grade unit on birds of prey at the elementary school. The program is funded in part by the Harvard Cultural Council, a local agency which is supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency.

This barred owl lost a wing in a run-in with a car and has been a resident of Marcia Wilson’s owl farm ever since. All of the owls in the program are unable to survive on their own in the wild.

This spectacled owl, a species native to South America,  was born in captivity.
