We aren’t sure where we’re all going, but we are going—from July 7 to Aug. 1. The Press will be shut down for four weeks after the Fourth of July, to give our small staff a much-needed break to rest and recharge.
We will keep the public meetings calendar and the cable listings current on our website, www.harvardpress.com, and we will be back raring to go with our Aug. 8 issue.
If you have any questions about our shutdown, call us at 978-456-3700 or send e-mail to editor@harvardpress.com.

| Be part of our second annual literary issue |
|
If you missed out on participating in last November’s literary issue, you’re in luck: our second annual literary issue is coming up with our Aug. 8 publication. We invite artists of all genres to send in their best work: poems, short stories, photos, whatever can be run in a newspaper. We can’t guarantee that we’ll run everything we receive, but we’ll do our best. Your reward will be the prestige of publication and a chance to showcase your talents.
E-mail submissions to features@harvardpress.com or mail to us at P.O. Box 284, Harvard, MA 01451 no later than Tuesday, Aug. 5.

| Calling all writers... |
The Press is looking to expand its crackerjack team of freelance reporters. We need good writers to report on:
Arts and Entertainment: With gas prices going through the roof, people are looking for entertainment close to home. What’s coming up locally in the way of drama, music, and festivals? If you’re interested in previewing—and reviewing—plays and musicals in and around town, concerts, jam sessions, and more, this could be the beat for you.
News: If you’re interested in keeping townspeople apprised of goings-on on the education front—from School Committee discussions to trends in education—let’s talk.
And, if you think you can help answer the age-old question—“What’s happening on Devens?”—let’s talk. We need someone to report news from the town-that’s-not-a-town, tell the story of what life is like on Devens, and keep readers up to date on the latest disposition discussions.
Sports: Inquiring minds want to know—what’s happening in Bromfield sports? If sports is your passion and you’d like to share it with our readers, we have a spot for you.
Interested? Call the editor at 978-456-3700, or send e-mail to editor@harvardpress.com.
