While we regret that at least one official thought the ends justified a flagrant violation of Open Meeting Law during negotiations on the two municipal buildings proposals that will be considered at Town Meeting in warrant articles 17 and 18, we are encouraged that there may be progress toward proposals that can be supported by both the Municipal Buildings Committee and proponents of Article 18. We hope that the negotiated solutions will include a simpler funding proposal that can be part of the revised motion(s) without requiring a two-thirds vote or passage of a ballot question.
