We said we wouldn’t talk about our newspaper after last week, but we are overwhelmed by the response we’ve received and we just have to share some of it.
Strangers call: “Thank you, thank you, thank you,” they say when we answer. Emails arrive: “It’s fantastic and thank you!” “What a gift!” Envelopes, checks, notes carry messages: “Thank you for what you are doing!!” “Congratulations! Good Job!” “This is wonderful, this is awesome – what a joy!”
We hear stories of people who stood at their mailboxes and read the paper from cover to cover; who brewed a cup of tea and spent the next two hours reading the paper—from cover to cover; who sat in their cars at the Post Office and read…cover to cover.
We’ve already heard from some residents who ran classified ads: They sold their car/dog fence/horse blanket.
Advertisers report back that they’ve sold products or services to people who read about them in the Press.
So we at the Harvard Press thank you for telling us that the paper—your local paper—is what you wanted. We will work hard to keep it that way.
