We agree with Selectmen Bill Marinelli and Bob Eubank and members of the Finance Committee who would like Town Moderator Dave “Doc” Westerling to reconsider his appointments to the subcommittee that will study options for selecting and keeping Finance Committee members. The nine-member subcommittee could have as many as three members who signed the original petition to have the Finance Committee elected. Regardless of how those three operate in practice, there will be a perception that strong biases influenced the subcommittee, and the study results will be suspect.
