Residents have a chance now to say what they’d like to see come out of the independent special education audit that they approved at Town Meeting. Most missed one chance at Monday night’s public meeting, where the Special Education Audit Subcommittee awaited specific questions from townspeople. This subcommittee is willing to listen to what people want, so if special education has been a topic at your dinner table or on the sidelines of a playing field, it’s not too late to take advantage of the subcommittee’s willingness before it pins down the scope of the audit, prepares its request for proposal, and chooses an auditor. If it’s important enough to have an opinion on, it’s important enough to express that opinion.
