The old town’s being tarted up. What with bark mulch at the transfer station, shamrock green crosswalks, spiffy new signs, and new grass along the edges of the Common, it looks like the town is trying to make an impression. On whom, we wonder. We’re pretty impressed already with the good, solid, lived-in look of a real town. Who wants New Englandland in Harvard?
