Susan L. "Suzi" (Paul) Boucher, beloved wife of Michael J. Boucher of Devens, formerly of Peabody and Marblehead, died Jan. 5, 2012, at the age of 54. She passed away at her home after a brief illness.

On July 7, 1957, Suzi was born in Peabody to Marilyn (Bloom) Paul and the late Mack G. Paul. She was the devoted stepmother of Courtney Boucher of Northborough and Nicholas Boucher of Northborough; beloved sister of Stanley Paul and his wife, Debbie, of Lynnfield, and Ronnie Paul and his wife, Talya, of Lynnfield; daughter-in-law of Ruth Boucher and the late Arthur Boucher; and cherished aunt of her niece, Jamie Paul, and her nephews, Jeffrey Paul, Orie Paul, and Eric Paul, all of Lynnfield.

She was an active member and volunteer of many charitable organizations, including Yankee Golden Retriever Rescue, the Museum of Science Butterfly Room, the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, and the Grand Lodge of Masons of Massachusetts in Boston. Suzi was an officer and member of numerous Masonic affiliated groups: the High Priestess of Ladies Oriental Shrine of North America-FUAD Court, and member of Ida McKinley Chapter of the Eastern Star, Oppela Temple-Daughters of the Nile and Order of the Amaranth.

She was a 1975 graduate of Peabody High School. She also attended Salem State College and Boston University and worked in the ophthalmology and orthopedic surgery fields for many years.

Her passion for life was found in many things, most especially her love of animals, her gardening, and her never-ending search for a spiritual path. She loved traveling throughout North America and held a special fondness for Salem, Mass., enjoying the positive mystical teachings she was able to participate in.

Suzi was an avid shopper and lived for the experience of the deal. She never saw an antique or woman's clothing store she didn't like. A favorite refrigerator magnet reads, "Life is short...Buy the shoes."

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in her memory may be made to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA), 424 E. 92nd St, New York, NY 10128-6804; Museum of Science Boston c/o The Butterfly Room, 1 Science Park, Boston, MA 02114; or to Yankee Golden Retriever Rescue, P.O. Box 808, Hudson, MA 01749-0808.
