Local wife and mother, speech pathologist

Tamara "Tammy" Long Molnar, of Harvard, died unexpectedly Saturday, Dec. 17, 2011, in her home.

She was born Nov. 6, 1964 in New Haven, Conn., the daughter of Donald and Joan Long, formerly of Essex, CT and currently residents of Sandwich, Mass.

Tammy was a 1983 graduate of Valley Regional High School in Deep River, Conn. She then attended Boston University where she received both a Bachelor of Arts degree and a Master of Science degree specializing in speech pathology. Before dedicating her full-time attention to her children, she was a speech pathologist in the Massachusetts school system.

Tammy was married to Richard Molnar. The couple had three children: Dylan, 11, and twins Benjamin and Rachel, 9. She was a loving mother, wife, daughter, and sister who cared deeply for her family. Tammy was an avid reader. She loved family vacations, movies, music and, most of all, being a mom.

In addition to her parents, husband and children, Tammy is survived by her brother Christopher and his children Jared and Phoebe Long of Sandwich, Mass.; her brother Jonathan and his wife Julie and their children Danielle and Donald Long of Forestdale, Mass.; her grandmother Marion Sadler of Sandwich, Mass.; and several loving aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Jan. 21, at the Harvard Unitarian Universalist Church, 9 Ayer Road, Harvard, Mass. The service will begin at 1 p.m.
