Selectmen Tuesday accepted the resignations of two members of the Historical Commission, Chair Roseanne Saalfield and alternate member Jonathan Feist.

Members of the Conservation Commission held an official meeting at the Bare Hill Pond dam Wednesday morning, Dec. 7, to decide what to do about a violation of the state and local wetlands regulations.

Bromfield School Principal James O'Shea proposed a plan Monday night to do away with directed study periods at the high school, popularly known as study hall.

Harvard's Planning Board is requesting that Selectmen solicit the opinion of town counsel to help determine if developer Trinity Financial's presentation last Monday qualified as an official public hearing. Planning Board Chair Kara Minar said she thinks it did not.

The Bromfield School was the only public high school in Massachusetts to achieve a 100 percent passing rate on its MCAS scores two years in a row, interim Superintendent Joe Connelly told the School Committee Monday.

The October snowstorm that dropped trees like jackstraws across Harvard's roads also left the town's conservation trails blocked by a jumble of massive branches and trunks.

To help Harvard plan for the next 10 years, the Master Plan Steering Committee asked townspeople some straightforward questions at a forum on Nov. 19.

At a meeting with residents of Harvard and Devens Monday night in Volunteers Hall, representatives of Boston developer Trinity Financial stressed that their plan to for Vicksburg Square in Devens is the best way to preserve the historic buildings.
