The Board of Selectmen has appointed the new Municipal Buildings Committee to continue the work of the Municipal Buildings Task Force, which presented its report at this year’s Annual Town Meeting

Harvard firefighters were among those from several surrounding towns who responded to a large structure fire on Hudson Road in Bolton Friday, June 18.

Town officials will make several changes in the next two weeks to comply with a rewritten Massachusetts Open Meeting Law that was approved in 2009 by the legislature and signed by Governor Deval Patrick as part of a state ethics reform package.

Acknowledging the informal competition between Groton and Harvard local access TV, Selectman Peter Warren, liaison to the Cable Committee from the Board of Selectmen, said, “When I turn on our channels and the programming is full, and I turn to Groton’s channel and there’s nothing—it’s a good feeling.”

Harvard’s town administrator, executive assistant, and five selectmen discussed dozens of questions at their annual strategy meeting this week, where they also evaluated their accomplishments over the past 12 months and made plans for the 2011 fiscal year.

By a narrow majority, the Devens Enterprise Commission agreed last week to reconsider the protocol approved last December to measure whether noise coming from the Evergreen Solar plant at Devens complies with DEC rules.
