At 12:10 p.m., police got a report of a minor motor vehicle accident with no injuries near the intersection of Massachusetts Avenue and Pond Road. No investigation was necessary, police say. At 12:23 p.m., police got a report of another minor motor vehicle accident with no injuries on Fairbank Street. Again, police say, no investigation was necessary. At 3:31 p.m., police responded to a report of someone burning brush on Woodchuck Hill Road without a burning permit. According to police, they told the person to get a permit from Town Hall.

Thursday, January 12
At 7:24 a.m., a resident of Still River Road told police a chain saw worth $250 had been stolen from his yard. The resident said the chain saw had been left about 20 feet from the home for a two-day period, police say. Police are investigating the incident. At 2:17 p.m., police responded to a motor vehicle accident on Ayer Road. There was minor damage and no injuries, police say. No citations were issued.
Friday, January 13
At 1:30 p.m., police responded to call from Tahanto Trail reporting someone in need of mental health assistance. The person was taken to Emerson Hospital, police say.
Saturday, January 14
At 11:59 a.m., someone came to the police station to report an erratic driver. Police did not locate the driver. At 12:12 p.m., a resident came to the police station with a dog found on Littleton Road. Police turned the dog over to animal control. At 3:54 p.m., police responded to a burglar alarm going off at the Hildreth Elementary School on Massachusetts Avenue. A door was open, police say, but nothing was missing or out of order. School officials called a custodian to lock the door.
Sunday, January 15
At 9:34 a.m., a resident of Still River Road reported receiving suspicious phone calls. Police gave the resident advice about how to report the incident to the phone company.
Monday, January 16
At 3:24 p.m., someone called police to report seeing a child sliding on the ice on the pond at the intersection of Ayer and Mill roads. Police say they spoke to the child and the child’s parent, who was there, and warned them that the ice is not solid enough to safely walk on. At 3:48 p.m., police spoke to someone who was parked at the Department of Public Works building on Depot Road. The department was closed for Martin Luther King Jr. Day. The driver told police he was there to get salt. Police told the driver to speak to the DPW the next day.
