There were no arrests the week of Dec. 20 through Dec. 26. The only incident of note was on Saturday, Dec. 24: At 10:20 a.m., police responded to a home on Littleton County Road for a report of breaking and entering and larceny. According to police, the homeowner told them that the family had opened a box of silverware to discover a number of items were missing. The homeowners suspected their former nanny or her boyfriend were responsible, police say. A detective spoke to the nanny, who denied the accusation, police say. The incident is still under investigation.
Tuesday, December 27
At 9:37 p.m., police got a report of a power outage in the area of Still River Road and Willard Lane. It was caused by a blown fuse, police say.
Wednesday, December 28
At 3:07 p.m., a resident of Depot Road reported a suspicious vehicle at the end of the driveway. Police responded to the area, but report the vehicle was gone on their arrival.
Thursday, December 29
At 11:21 p.m., police investigated a report of a suspicious vehicle parked at the McCurdy Track on Lancaster County Road. No further information was available.
Friday, December 30
At 10:03 p.m., a caller reported a car driving erratically in the area of Still River Road and West Bare Hill Road and parking at the Saint Benedict Center. Police spoke to driver and performed a field sobriety test. The man was just tired, police say, and was going to stay at the center until morning Mass.
Saturday, December 31
At 12:24 a.m., Harvard Police assisted Boxborough Police respond to an incident at an apartment on Codman Hill Road. According to police, a man there said his girlfriend had threatened to harm herself by taking pills. The woman refused medical treatment, police say. At 12:32 a.m., a priest at the Saint Benedict Center on Still River Road reported that an unfamiliar large man with a beard was spotted in a building there. Police say the man was the erratic driver previously reported Friday night. He was waiting for Mass to retrieve a coin, police say. According to police, the man got his coin and left. At 10:44 a.m., police got a report of hit-and-run damage to a stone wall on Bolton Road. A vehicle had struck the wall, causing a lot of damage, police say. Though the vehicle and its driver had left the scene, police discovered its license plate remained. Police say they used the license plate to locate the driver, a Lunenburg man, and charged him with leaving the scene of property damage. A 8 p.m., police investigated a report of gunshots heard near Candleberry Lane. The caller suggested the sound was coming from Devens, police said, but the base reported no weapons training was under way at that time. Police did not locate the source of the noise.
Sunday, January 1
At 9:54 p.m., a caller reported hearing several gunshots in the area of Orchard Hill. Police checked the area but report finding nothing.
Monday, January 2
At 1:10 p.m., someone at the Bromfield School reported an iPod had been stolen from a backpack in the band room. Police are still investigating the incident.
