Women's Business Network holiday meeting

The Women's Business Network, whose primary purpose is to promote and support women in business and professional practices, will hold its annual holiday party Thursday, Dec. 8, at 7:15 p.m. at a member's home in Harvard. Women interested in learning more about the group are invited to attend. Please bring finger food—a snack, appetizer, or dessert—along with business cards and brochures. RSVP to Liz Hawkes at emh38@yahoo.com. Directions will be sent to members and those who RSVP.

Membership in the Women's Business Network is open to women who own or manage a business. Throughout the year, members share professional development tips, marketing strategies and business insights through monthly meetings, guest lectures, workshops and informal networking. Members often exchange business leads and referrals. Annual dues are $50 and provide a listing on the group's website. Visit www.wbn-ma.org for more information.

Current members live, or own businesses, in Acton, Ayer, Berlin, Bolton, Boxborough, Carlisle, Chelmsford, Clinton, Concord, Groton, Harvard, Hudson, Lancaster, Lincoln, Littleton, Marlborough, Maynard, Shirley, Stow, Townsend, and Westford. The Women's Business Network meets at 7:15 p.m. on the second Thursday of each month September to June. Unless otherwise noted, meetings are held at St. Theresa's Church (Holy Trinity Parish) in Harvard.

For more information on the Women's Business Network call Renee W. Senes at 978-456-9600.

Fort Devens Museum quilt raffle

The Fort Devens Museum is raffling off a patriotic quilt made by members of the Groton Woman's Club. The Woman's Club donated the quilt with its handwritten message of thanks to a service member on the back.

To date, the Groton Woman's Club has created more than 200 of these quilts. The completed quilts are then shipped out to keep wounded men and women in uniform warm on their way to Germany for treatment. The Fort Devens Museum is proud to be able to raffle one of these quilts to support its mission of honoring and recognizing those who have served.

Tickets are $1, 6 for $5, and 12 for $10. Tickets are available at the museum on Tuesdays and Fridays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. or via mail. The drawing will be held in mid-December.

For more information, contact the museum at 978-772-1286 or info@fortdevensmuseum.org.

Loaves & Fishes seeks Shop-for-Your-Parents donations

Loaves & Fishes is seeking donations for its annual "Shop for Your Parents Day," Saturday, Dec. 10. The program provides an opportunity for children of Loaves & Fishes clients to select presents for their parents or guardians at no cost. In addition, seniors and adults living alone are each provided with a gift bag.

Shriver Job Corps, Nashoba Valley Chamber of Commerce and Bristol-Meyers Squibb will be sponsors again this year, but additional support is needed.

In addition to cash donations, Loaves & Fishes welcomes new gifts with a value between $10 and $15. Suggestions include: gloves, winter scarves and hat sets, slippers in medium and large, perfume, sports related clothing and items, tools, men's clothing, and any warm items. All gifts must be new, except gently-worn jewelry.

Checks made out to "Loaves and Fishes," with "Shop for your Parents" noted in the memo area, may be mailed to Loaves & Fishes, P.O. Box 215, Ayer, MA 01432. For gift donation drop-off or pick-up information, or for event hours, call Marie Allen at 978-772-7510 or Joan Pena at 978-772-4440.

Details about the day's event and sponsorship can be found at www.loavesfishespantry.org.
