Art of Cider Making with Chef Paul
The Warner Free Lecture Series will present Chef Paul Correnty and the Art of Cider Making Friday, Nov. 18, at 7:30 p.m. at Friendly Crossways Retreat Center, 247 Littleton County Road. Correnty will reveal his secrets for making cider, a native beverage with a long history in New England. He will walk through the basics of cider-making and provide samples of his own creation. Seating is limited; be sure to get there early.
"Twelve Angry Men" at Parker School
Francis W. Parker Charter Essential School will present the play "Twelve Angry Men" Friday and Saturday, Nov. 18 and 19, at 7 p.m. at 49 Antietam St. in Devens. "Twelve Angry Men" exposes the other side of the classic courtroom drama, pressing audience members not only to question their faith in the equality of the law, but also to explore the inherent prejudices in everyone's mind. Art Exhibit and Children's Book Signing
The Pilot Project at the Old Library will host an Artist Reception and Children's Book Signing with author/artist Jackie French Koller Saturday, Nov. 19, from 1 to 4 p.m. at the old library. Koller, who recently retired to Harvard, is the author of more than 30 books for children and young adults. Koller is also a watercolorist and former owner of the Little Black Dog Gallery in western Mass. She will have a limited number of titles for sale during the book signing and will be happy to sign personal copies. Koller's art will be on dispay through Dec. 4. Koller has donated two sets of her books to the new library and will donate all of the proceeds from sales during the exhibit to the Pilot Project.
Lego Club
The Harvard Public Library will host Lego Club for ages 5 and up Saturday, Nov. 19, from 1:30 to 3 p.m. Parents are encouraged to join the fun and assist with supervision. See the Children's Librarian to preregister.
Fanfare House Concert
Fanfare will present Tre Corda, a trio consisting of Tim Ray on piano, Eugene Friesen on cello, and Greg Hopkins on trumpet, at a house concert Saturday, Nov. 19, at 3 p.m. at the Chapman's, 42 Willow Road. Fanfare Plant Sale
The annual Fanfare holiday plant sale will take place in the lobbies of the Bromfield and Hildreth Elementary schools Monday, Nov. 21, from noon to 4 p.m. and Tuesday, Nov. 22, from noon to 7 p.m. during parent-teacher conferences. The public is welcome to attend. Various colors of poinsettias, Christmas cactus, and paperwhite narcissus will be for sale. Proceeds will benefit the music programs in the Harvard public schools. Jars of Chef Paul's famous potato leek soup will be for sale in the Bromfield cafeteria Monday, Nov. 21, from noon to 4 p.m. and Tuesday, Nov. 22, from noon to 7 p.m. Jars are hand-painted by members of Bromfields National Art Honor Society. $10 per jar; proceeds to benefit an Art Society museum trip.
Landscape Design
The Harvard Garden Club will meet Monday, November 28, with featured speaker Laura Bibler, a creator of landscape designs at private homes and historic estates. Bibler's lecture will describe the process of historic garden preservation at Stevens-Coolidge Place and will offer gardening tips to attendees. The meeting will begin at 11:15 a.m. at St. Theresa's Church and is open to the public. Lunch and a business meeting will precede the speaker.
Family Movie Night
The Harvard Public Library will host a Family Movie Night, rated G, Friday, Dec. 2, at 6:30 p.m. Popcorn and water will be served. Please preregister so the library will know how much popcorn to buy.

"Sweeney Todd"

"Glass Menagerie"
Former Bromfield theatre teacher Michael McGarty is directing a production of Tennessee Williams' "The Glass Menagerie" at the Acme Theater at Art Space, 61 Summer St. in Maynard. The Nashua River Watershed Association (NRWA) will host a presentation by Mary Holland, author of "Naturally Curious: A Photographic Field Guide and Month-by-Month Journey through the Fields, Woods, and Marshes of New England," Thursday, December 1, from 6 to 8 p.m., at the NRWA's River Resource Center, 592 Main St. in Groton.
