Fruitlands Museum has announced that Susan Davy has been named interim director at the museum starting Oct. 1.
A transition management and strategic planning specialist, Davy has extensive experience in the art and non-profit worlds. Davy was vice president of finance and administration at the New England Conservatory of Music, and director of finance and operations at both the Isabella Stuart Gardner Museum and the Peabody Essex Museum.
“We are thrilled to have Susan join the team at Fruitlands as interim director,” said Fruitlands Board President Marie LeBlanc in a statement last Friday. “She brings a wealth of experience with her museum management background, and will be a huge asset in helping oversee day-to-day operations.”
Davy will serve as the Fruitlands interim director until a new executive director is named in 2012. LeBlanc said that Fruitlands will be retaining an executive search firm, and she expects the search process to take four to six months.
In addition to owning Susan Davy Consulting, Davy is an avid photographer and co-owns Dragonfly Gallery, LLC, with her husband, Don McKillop, on Martha’s Vineyard.
