Fruitlands Museum announced last week that CEO Tim Firment has stepped down from his role effective Sept. 1. Firment will serve in a consulting role with the museum on an as-needed basis moving forward.
“Fruitlands would like to thank Tim for his service during his tenure,” said Marie LeBlanc, president of the Fruitlands Museum board of directors, in a statement released Sept. 2. “We look forward to continuing along our path of success during the transition and once our new leadership is on board.”
LeBlanc noted that the Board of Directors will be appointing an interim director in the early fall and will be conducting a more lengthy executive search that will see a new executive director appointed in 2012.
“Fruitlands will be making those announcements when decisions have been reached,” LeBlanc said.
“We have a great fall season up ahead, including our first-ever juried craft festival that we’re hosting here with the Worcester Center for Crafts on the first weekend of October,” LeBlanc said. “We’re excited to be bringing a whole new group of artists and visitors who might not have been to Fruitlands before. Autumn is just spectacular here.”
LeBlanc said that during the transition, general Fruitlands inquiries and communications can be directed to Mary Delaney, executive assistant, at 978-456-3924, Ext. 292.
