‘Digesting’ common gastrointestinal issues
Local senior adults (age 60 and older) are invited to hear a presentation by Dr. Maureen Daye of Nashoba Valley Medical Center, who will speak at Hildreth House about gastrointestinal health Tuesday, May 10, at 6 p.m. Her presentation will address common GI conditions and treatments, with an emphasis on health promotion and prevention strategies, including lifestyle changes. She will also update the community on new research developments in the field of gastroenterology.
Daye, who is board-certified in internal medicine and gastroenterology, earned her medical degree at State University of New York, Syracuse, College of Medicine. She completed an internship and a residency in internal medicine at St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center, and completed a fellowship in gastroenterology at McGill University School of Medicine.
COA to host luau luncheon
The COA invites seniors to a luau luncheon Friday, May 20, at 11:30 a.m. With some decorating efforts and a little imagination, Hildreth House will be turned into a tropical paradise. Guests should feel free to dress in something Hawaiian, and come for lunch and conversation with neighbors and friends. The Ukulele Union will provide Hawaiian music for your enjoyment. Cost will be $8 per person, payable in advance and not refundable, as we will be making a commitment to the caterer. Tickets should be purchased by May 6 at the COA office.
