School Lunch Menus: March 4–March 11, 2011

Bromfield School

All lunches include a cup of soup and all sides, with a choice of whole, low-fat, skim, or 2 percent chocolate milk. Individual prices: $1 for soup; $3.50 for daily plate; $3.50 for pizza ($1 for an extra slice); $3.75 and $4 for sandwiches and wraps; and $3.50 for subs. Sub shop (available every day): turkey, ham, tuna, salami, or cheese with fillings. Sides are served with all lunches.

Friday, March 4: Soup of the day: everything’s in it; daily plate: Southwest chicken Caesar salad tossed to order; pizza: cheese, pepperoni, or sausage; sandwiches and wraps: black bean patty on whole grain bread with lettuce and tomoato; sides: trail mix, fruit Shape Ups, sweet grapes

Monday, March 7: Soup of the day: chicken rice; daily plate: cheese-stuffed shells in marinara sauce; pizza: cheese, pepperoni, or chicken pesto; sandwiches and wraps: toasted ham and cheese on a cinnamon raisin bagel; sides: tossed garden salad, California raisins, cinnamon applesauce

Tuesday, March 8: Soup of the day: potage paysan with dill; daily plate: curry vegetable stew with raisins on brown rice; pizza: cheese, pepperoni, or white-out; sandwiches and wraps: chicken breast filet Parmesan on a bulkie roll; sides: brown rice, cucumber spears, ruby red grapefruit grins

Wednesday, March 9: Early release—no lunch

Thursday, March 10: Soup of the day: hearty vegetable tortellini; daily plate: black-eyed peas and rice; pizza: cheese, pepperoni, or roasted vegetable; sandwiches and wraps: Buffalo chicken breast wrap with Romaine in wheat tortilla; sides: crisp apple, trail mix, petite bananas

Friday, March 11: Soup of the day: everything’s in it; daily plate: Quarterdeck seafood special; pizza: cheese, pepperoni, or bacon; sandwiches and wraps: toasted turkey and Swiss cheese on croissant; sides: campfire beans, vegetable tray, chilled peaches

 


Elementary School

Freshly made sandwiches are available daily from the sub shop. Skim, 1 percent, and low-fat chocolate milk are available with every meal.

Friday, March 4: Pizza, petite bananas, veggie sticks, pineapple juice

Monday, March 7: Pork rib-b-q on a whole wheat bun, cucumber rounds, chilled peaches, apple juice

Tuesday, March 8: Chicken stir-fry in a pita pocket, baby carrots, frozen fruit Shape Up

Wednesday, March 9:  Bag lunch—bagel yogurt, string cheese, crisp apple, celery sticks, sweet treat

Thursday, March 10: Tomato soup and grilled cheese, crisp cucumber rounds, and orange smile

Friday, March 11: Pizza or Quarterdeck seafood special, tossed salad, chilled pears, ice cream
