School Lunch Menus: February 28–March 4, 2011

Bromfield School

All lunches include a cup of soup and all sides, with a choice of whole, low-fat, skim, or 2 percent chocolate milk. Individual prices: $1 for soup; $3.50 for daily plate; $3.50 for pizza ($1 for an extra slice); $3.75 and $4 for sandwiches and wraps; and $3.50 for subs. Sub shop (available every day): turkey, ham, tuna, salami, or cheese with fillings. Sides are served with all lunches.

Monday, Feb. 28: Soup of the day:Sweet potato bisque; daily plate: rotini with Bolognese meat sauce; pizza: cheese, pepperoni, or Hawaiian; sandwiches and wraps: California sandwich, guacamole, tomato, and red leaf lettuce on five-grain bread; sides: tossed garden salad, garlic bread sticks, cinnamon applesauce

Tuesday, March 1:  Soup of the day: chicken Florentine; daily plate: vegetarian stuffed peppers; pizza: cheese, pepperoni, or tomato basil; sandwiches and wraps: toasted ham and cheese on a French toast bagel; sides: corn niblets, cucumber spears, juicy tangerines

Wednesday, March 2: Soup of the day: leek and potato; daily plate: roasted vegetable stew and chickpeas on quinoa; pizza: cheese, pepperoni, or spicy chicken; sandwiches and wraps: big rib-b-q on a Fantini roll; sides: maple-glazed carrots, pasta salad, chilled peaches

Thursday, March 3: Soup of the day: Greek lentil; daily plate: shepherd’s pie; pizza: cheese, pepperoni, or vegetable whiteout; sandwiches and wraps: double tuna melt on an English muffin; sides: tossed spinach salad, California rasins, petite bananas

Friday, March 4: Soup of the day: everything’s in it; daily plate: Southwest chicken Caesar salad tossed to order; pizza: cheese, pepperoni, or sausage; sandwiches and wraps: black bean patty on whole grain bread with lettuce and tomoato; sides: trail mix, fruit Shape Ups, sweet grapes


Elementary School

Freshly made sandwiches are available daily from the sub shop. Skim, 1 percent, and low-fat chocolate milk are available with every meal.

Monday, Feb. 28: French bread pizza, veggie sticks with dip, chilled juice, sweet grapes

Tuesday, March 1: Chicken filet sandwich with lettuce and tomato, potato salad, applesauce

Wednesday, March 2: Breakfast for lunch—whole wheat pancakes, sausage links, cantaloupe slices, yogurt blueberry smoothie

Thursday, March 3: Shepherd’s pie, spinach,chilled fruit, red grapes

Friday, March 4: Pizza, petite bananas, veggie sticks, pineapple juice
