School Lunch Menus: January 28–February 4, 2011

Bromfield School

All lunches include a cup of soup and all sides, with a choice of whole, low-fat, skim, or 2 percent chocolate milk. Individual prices: $1 for soup; $3.50 for daily plate; $3.50 for pizza ($1 for an extra slice); $3.75 and $4 for sandwiches and wraps; and $3.50 for subs. Sub shop (available every day): turkey, ham, tuna, salami, or cheese with fillings. Sides are served with all lunches.

Friday, Jan. 28: Soup of the day: everything’s in it; daily plate: Quarterdeck seafood special; pizza: cheese, pepperoni, or everything; sandwiches and wraps: double grilled cheese on whole wheat; sides: maple-glazed carrots, Cindy’s slaw, applesauce

Monday, Jan. 31:  Soup of the day: chicken rice; daily plate: whole wheat rotini pasta with vegetable marinara; pizza: cheese or pepperoni; sandwiches and wraps: big meatball sub in a Fantini roll; sides: tossed garden salad, cranberry sauce, petite bananas

Tuesday, Feb. 1: Soup of the day: cream of zucchini with basil; daily plate: barley and vegetable bake; pizza: cheese, pepperoni, or spicy beef; sandwiches and wraps: chicken breast filet Parmesan on a bulkie; sides: maple-glazed carrots, sweet orange smiles, grapefruit grins

Wednesday, Feb. 2: Early release—no lunch

Thursday, Feb. 3: Soup of the day: beef noodle; daily plate: baked sweet potato topped with vegetable chili; pizza: cheese, pepperoni, or vegetable whiteout; sandwiches and wraps: crunchy sweet-and-sour white-meat chicken wrap in a wheat tortilla; sides: tortellini salad, steamed broccoli, chilled pears

Friday, Feb. 4: Soup of the day: everything’s in it; daily plate: Quarterdeck seafood special; pizza: cheese, pepperoni, or bacon; sandwiches and wraps: double grilled cheese on whole wheat; sides: campfire beans, Cindy’s slaw, applesauce


Elementary School

Freshly made sandwiches are available daily from the sub shop. Skim, 1 percent, and low-fat chocolate milk are available with every meal.

Friday, Jan. 28: Pizza or Quarterdeck special, Greek salad with feta, chilled peaches, ice cream

Monday, Jan. 31: French bread pizza, veggie sticks with dip, chilled juice, sweet grapes

Tuesday, Feb. 1: all-beef hot dog on a roll, corn niblets, crisp cucumber rounds, sweet orange smiles

Wednesday, Feb. 2: funnel cake, fruit yogurt, string cheese, baby carrots, sweet raisins, juice, and milk

Thursday, Feb. 3: filet o’ fish on whole wheat bun, potato salad, maple-glazed carrots, fresh pineapple chunks

Friday, Feb. 4: pizza or Quarterdeck seafood special, vegetable sticks, applesauce, ice cream
