School Lunch Menus: December 17–24, 2010

Bromfield School

All lunches include a cup of soup and all sides, with a choice of whole, low-fat, skim, or 2 percent chocolate milk. Individual prices: $1 for soup; $3.50 for daily plate; $3.50 for pizza ($1 for an extra slice); $3.75 and $4 for sandwiches and wraps; and $3.50 for subs. Sub shop (available every day): turkey, ham, tuna, salami, or cheese with fillings. Sides are served with all lunches.

Friday, Dec. 17: Soup of the day: cream of tomato; daily plate: breakfast for lunch—French toast sticks, Blood Farm sausage; pizza: cheese, pepperoni, or bacon; sides: red bliss home fries, strawberry yogurt smoothie, petite bananas

Monday, Dec. 20:  Soup of the day: corn chowder; daily plate: whole wheat spaghetti with vegetable marinara; pizza: cheese, pepperoni, or spicy ham; sandwiches and wraps: big pastrami sub; sides: tossed garden salad, fruit Shape-Ups, petite bananas

Tuesday, Dec. 21 : Soup of the day: beef noodle; daily plate: barley and vegetable bake with sage; pizza: cheese, pepperoni, or vegetable whiteout; sandwiches and wraps: crunchy sweet-and-sour chicken wrap with shredded vegetables; sides: steamed broccoli florets, cheese chunks, chilled fruit

Wednesday, Dec. 22: Soup of the day: New England clam chowder; daily plate: ratatouille over brown rice; pizza: cheese, pepperoni, or Hawaiian; sandwiches and wraps: big rib-b-q on a Fantini roll; sides: vegetable tray, brown rice, sweet orange smiles

Thursday, Dec. 23: Soup of the day: everything’s in it; daily plate: nachos grandes with chili and queso; pizza: cheese, pepperoni, or meat-lover’s; sandwiches and wraps: Gardenburger patty on five-grain bread with lettuce and tomato; sides: spinach salad, applesauce

Friday, Dec. 24: Winter vacation—no school


Elementary School

Freshly made sandwiches are available daily from the sub shop. Skim, 1 percent, and low-fat chocolate milk are available with every meal.

Friday, Dec. 17: Pizza, Greek salad with feta, chilled peaches, ice cream

Monday, Dec. 20: All-beef hot dog on a bun, macaroni salad, chilled fruit, fruit Shape Up

Tuesday, Dec. 21: Baked cheese ravioli, tossed garden salad, chilled peaches

Wednesday, Dec. 22: Chicken breast filet sandwich on a whole-grain roll, steamed green beans, crisp apple, cranberry sauce

Thursday, Dec. 23: Nachos grandes with chili and cheese, watermelon wedge, chilled peaches

Friday, Dec. 24: Winter vacation—no school
