Discussion on how to save on property taxes
Assistant Tax Assessor Celia Jornet will be at Hildreth House Tuesday, April 13, at 1 p.m. to discuss various property tax exemptions, deferrals, work-off programs, circuit-breaker tax credits, and other options to help seniors with their property taxes. Call to sign up for this free program.
On the road with COA

- Wednesday, April 14: The COA has organized a trip to the Peabody Essex Museum in Salem to tour the exhibit “Fiery Pool: The Maya and the Mythic Sea.” More than 90 works, many never before seen, offer new insights into the Mayan culture. After the tour, trip-goers will have lunch at a local restaurant. The group will leave Hildreth House at 8:30 a.m. and return by 4 p.m. Cost is $20 plus lunch.
- Thursday, April 22: The COA is offering a trip to the senior conference in Marlborough, sponsored by State Senator Jamie Eldridge. The conference will feature health screenings, presentations on identity theft, elder law, reverse mortgages, computer classes, and more. Everything is free, including lunch. The group will leave Hildreth House at 9 a.m. and return by 3 p.m.
- Thursday, April 22: The MART van will leave Hildreth House at 7:15 p.m. to transport interested seniors to Concord to attend the Concord Players’ dress rehearsal of The Scarlet Pimpernel. Cost is $5 for the show and $2 for the van.
- Friday, April 30: COA travelers will be heading out to lunch at the Bull Run in Shirley, leaving Hildreth House at 11:15 a.m. and returning by 1:30 p.m. Transportation cost is $5.
