Fire strikes Appleworks, seriously damages three businesses

A smoky three-alarm fire in the middle of the night last weekend brought firefighters from Harvard and five other towns to the Appleworks building at 325 Ayer Road. The fire was out by daybreak, and no one was hurt, but three businesses suffered serious damage.
