Annie Smith Peck (1850-1935) was one of the most accomplished women of the twentieth century that you've never heard of. Peck was a scholar, educator, writer, lecturer, mountain climber, suffragist, and political activist ... a feminist and an independent thinker who refused to let gender stereotypes stand in her way. On Friday, Jan. 26, at 7:30 p.m. in Volunteers Hall, the Warner Free Lecture Trust presents author Hannah Kimberley, who has written a biography of Peck. Kimberley describes her research of Peck’s original letters, artifacts, and ephemera, and brings Peck to life. Ms. Kimberley will have her book available for sale ($26.99 cash, check, or credit card) and is happy to sign copies.
