Infant Storytime: Mother Goose on the Loose (no sign-up required)—Ages 2 and younger; Wednesdays at 10:30 a.m.
This storytime will meet on six Wednesdays through the summer: June 25, July 2, July 16, July 23, July 30, and Aug. 13.
Mother Goose on the Loose is an early literacy program that uses rhymes and songs to help pre-reading children get ready for reading. It incorporates music, movement, ritual, repetition, positive reinforcement, developmental tips, nursery rhymes, illustrations, puppets, musical instruments, colored scarves, and book-reading into a 30-minute session for infants to 2-year-olds and their caregivers (older children are also welcome to join in).
Music Together with Alex Andrews—Ages 5 and younger; Wednesday, July 9, and Wednesday, Aug. 6, at 10:30 a.m.
This drop-in series features music and movement and a story with Alex Andrews of Apple Country Music Together.
Family Movie Night—All ages.

Animal Antics (Sparky’s Puppets)—All ages; Thursday, July 10, from 3 to 3:45 p.m.
Participants can see a fierce lion confront a timid mouse, meet a boastful bear and a crafty fox, and see what happens when a monkey gets drawing advice from a crocodile, an elephant, and a giraffe. Sparky’s Puppets perform adaptations of favorite children’s stories with colorful hand puppets, lively humor, and plenty of audience participation. Preregistration required.
Wild About Reading: A Celebration in Story & Song with Davis Bates and Roger Tincknell
All ages; Tuesday, July 15, from 3 to 4 p.m.
Wild About Reading is a program of stories and songs that celebrates reading, the natural world, and the human spirit. Parents’ Choice Award-winning performers Roger Tincknell and Davis Bates will share participatory stories and songs that educate and entertain, encouraging reading within and across generations. The program includes songs and stories about wild animals, tricksters, and more, involving movement, rhythm, and dance. Instruments played include guitar, banjo, mandolin, spoons, limberjack, and other percussion instruments. Please pre-register for this wonderful celebration of reading. (This program is supported in part by a grant from the Harvard Cultural Council, a local agency which is supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency.)
Backyard Wildlife—Children in grade one and higher; Tuesday, Aug. 5; two half-hour sessions, starting at: 2:30 and 3:15 p.m. The Audubon Ark Outreach program will bring an opossum and Mr. Mallard to the library for this presentation. Since these are live animals, enrollment in each half-hour session is strictly limited to 30 child participants (accompanying adults may also attend). Pre-registration required.

Fourth-graders: Monday, July 21, from 4 to 4:45 p.m. The fourth-grade book is Ghosthunters and the Incredibly Revolting Ghost, by Cornelia Funke.
Fifth-graders: Wednesday, July 16, from 3:45 to 4:30 p.m. The fifth-grade book is Magyk, by Angie Sage.
Sixth-graders: Monday, July 28, from 4 to 4:45 p.m. The sixth-grade book is The Mysterious Benedict Society, by Trenton Lee Stewart.
