Students, parents, and faculty members from the Bromfield School gathered at the old library to say farewell and good luck to longtime guidance counselor Cindy Hurley last Thursday.
Looking back at her 10 years in Harvard, Hurley said she had enjoyed being at a school “where everything was so collaborative.”
At Bromfield, Hurley worked with all sixth graders and with a third of the students in the grades above that level. She is continuing her career at Wellesley High School, which has 1,400 students in grades 9 through 12. In her new job, Hurley teaches guidance seminars as well as working with individual students.
Foreign language teacher Denise Keating said Hurley was always “positive, upbeat, and supportive” in her work with students, a description that was evidenced by the hugs and good wishes from students and parents at the Sept. 15 gathering.
A tea devotee, Hurley received a blue-and-white tea set as a memento of her years at Bromfield.
