Winter

Get the cross country skis and snowshoes out of the basement and explore the Oxbow National Wildlife Refuge * Take the kids sledding on the Common, and bring along a carafe of hot cider from one of the local orchards * Hang a bird feeder filled with sunflower chips for the cardinals * Place a classified ad in the Harvard Press for all the goodies cleaned out of the attic after Christmas * Attend the Volunteer Fair in Volunteers Hall at the library and find an organization that fits your time and talent * Go to a Bromfield basketball game and cheer on the Trojans * Take a plate of cookies to the DPW after a heavy snow

Spring

Send an elected official an e-mail thanking him or her for volunteering for the town * Write a letter to the editor of the Harvard Press about something that needs to change in town * Create a Fourth of July parade float * Plant a tree * Watch a soccer game from the stone wall on Mass. Ave. * Volunteer to bring a bowl of soup to the Hildreth Café, happening every Tuesday at Hildreth House

Summer

Hang out with a cup of coffee on the porch of Westward Orchards * See sculptor Joe Wheelwright’s installation of tall tree figures at Fruitlands * Take a carafe of coffee down to the beach at sunrise to enjoy with a friend * Order a gargoyle for the garden from the Friends of the Harvard Public Library * Take a walk on one of the trails listed in the Harvard Trails book available at Town Hall * Make this the year you buy the kayak and take the shore tour of Bare Hill Pond

Fall

Take a plate of cookies to the police station * Shop for dinner at the Harvard Farmers’ Market * Attend an exhibit at the Harvard Historical Society * Watch a field hockey game from the stone wall * Pick apples and peaches at Carlson Orchards or Doe Orchards * Attend a Warner Free Lecture * Drop off a bag of Halloweem candy at the police station * Attend the fall production of the Bromfield Drama Society * Grab a cup of award-winning apple cider at Phil’s * Attend a public meeting and speak your piece
