Absentee ballots available
Absentee ballots for the state primary are now available at the Town Clerk’s office. Absentee ballots for the special town election for Town Moderator will be available no later than Aug. 20. The primary and the election will both be held on Sept. 16. Any voter who will be out of town during polling hours on the day of the election, or who will be unable to vote in person due to physical disability or religious belief, may request an absentee ballot. The quickest and easiest way to vote absentee is to go to the Town Clerk’s office, fill out an application, and vote the ballot while you are there. The Town Clerk has applications for absentee ballots, but they are also available on the website of the secretary of the commonwealth, www.sec.state.ma.us/ele. Click on “How to Apply for an Absentee Ballot” (on the right-hand side), then scroll down to “Absentee Ballot Application.”
The deadline to request an absentee ballot is noon the day before the election. Ballots may not be hand-carried out of the office.
