A few weeks ago a new creature entered our lives. He was sitting on our doorstep when we came home, humming to himself and smoking a pipe, and he said that his name was Clarence. After much encouragement, I convinced him to stay in our house as a guest. But the barking dogs must have turned him off because he disappeared after a day or two.
Last Saturday we went to the garden to weed, and we found Clarence drinking from our beer-filled dixie cups, which were now filled with mostly rainwater and dead slugs.
Thank you to whoever gifted him to us, we all adore him!
